Kevin and Becky Kompelien
After almost 24 years of serving as a Senior Pastor, God called Kevin Kompelien out of a local church ministry to assume the position of International Leader for Africa with EFCA ReachGlobal.
Ministry in Africa is nothing new to Kevin. Hillside Church, the church he pastored from 1994-2006, was committed to an ongoing church planting partnership with the EFCA in East Africa for a decade. Kevin traveled to Africa numerous times training national leaders, speaking to missionaries, and strategizing with missionaries and national leaders for expanding the effectiveness of church planting and compassion ministries in Africa. God was clearly at work putting Africa in his heart!
Kevin now serves as a member of the Directional Team for EFCA ReachGlobal, which is the primary leadership team for the mission. He is responsible to oversee all ministries of EFCA ReachGlobal in Africa.
Kevin works to build bridges for ministry with missionaries, national church leaders, local churches in the United States, and other mission organizations. He is convinced that working together in strategic partnerships is essential for the Gospel to go forth dynamically all across Africa in the days to come. Practically this means regular trips to Africa to work with national leaders and missionaries as well as extensive travel in the States to connect with local churches and other mission organizations. In addition, he works to recruit and prepare the next generation of missionaries for Africa.
