Over twenty years ago, I had someone say to me, “Hey, you would be great working with children, you should really think about teaching preschool.” It’s amazing how powerful those words were in my life. I’m currently in my 16th year of teaching preschool. I love preschoolers! When the opportunity came along for me to join the staff at Hillside working with the nursery and preschool department, I jumped at it. I’m totally at home talking about why bugs don’t cry… playing with play dough …and getting paint out of hair! It is my desire to create an atmosphere where young children want to come to church! Where there is an excitement when they see their classroom and see their teacher.
I see the nursery as another important aspect of my job. I realize that when a parent drops off their baby into our nursery, they are entrusting us with their most treasured possession. I take that very seriously and am excited to have a volunteer staff that is there ready to greet our babies with a smile and open arms!
My husband, Brian and I have been married for 29 years and have 3 grown children. Two of which are married and also a darling little grandson! I count it a blessing to serve here at Hillside.
