Movies, books and art do a lot of imagining for us. Are you able to describe any kind of imagining you do on your own? Where does most of your daydreaming take you? When you think about the “after life”, what usually comes to mind? Did you understand and agree with Joe’s explanation of the intermediate state? What is the difference between the intermediate state and the Roman Catholic’s teaching on purgatory? Does any of this matter? Some theologian’s emphasize that the future state of believers will be on a “New Earth” - an upgrade of our current physical reality. What reactions do you have to this teaching? Are you in agreement with it and excited at the prospect or are you let down and discouraged? Did you understand Joe’s explanation of rewards, crowns and working in Heaven? Has any of this content brought you more clarity to your current reality of life? In other words, have you gained more insight into the meaning of your life as a result of sharpening your focus on the future? If your answer is “yes”, can you be specific? Aside from what we’ve been talking about, what else has the attention of your mind, soul and time these days? |
