Do you use the word “saved” when speaking about your spirituality or personal relationship with God? If not, what sentence(s) do you default to using when describing your conversion to Jesus? If you do use the word “saved”, do you have in mind something specific from which you were saved? Have you ever been baptized? Share your experience. Do you think it means more to you now than it did at the time? Was it a matter of just going through the motions or did it represent a major life-changing moment? Is there someone here who believes it’s time for them to be baptized? From whom did you hear about Jesus for the first time? Would you say you rejected or accepted that message initially? If you are reluctant to claim either of those extremes, discuss the theology of a “middle of the road” answer. Can the saving message of Jesus be broken up into pieces that people assemble into what we refer to as “the gospel”? Is there anyone in your life right now to whom you feel a sense of responsibility to tell them about Jesus? What about people you don’t know; or group of people? Do you think you have a part to play in that level of evangelism or is it more about us all getting the message out in our own unique circumstances and calling? |
