What is it about the desert that attracts some people and repels others? Assuming that the "desert" speaks of searing winds, blowing dry sand, desolation: share a desert-like phase you have experienced. Look at Job 19:5-20. Job feels that God has wronged, struck and alienated him. How can he also be Job¹s "Redeemer" (v. 25)? Share a time when you felt alienated from God. What happened that you eventually re-connected with God? What role if any did someone else play in your re-connection with the Lord?
