Share a time when someone used a reprimanding tone towards you. (You were being corrected or someone was disappointed in you.) Was the relationship weird after that or were you able to rebuild it and move on? How would you feel if a preacher began a sermon the way Paul began this letter in v. 6?

What do you think is the biggest threat to “the Gospel” today? Was it something Joe mentioned in the sermon, or is there a there another worldview, teaching or mindset of which you are keenly aware?

Can you think of a time in your life when you have followed another gospel”? Why was it so alluring, and what took you off of that path?

Is there any dispenser of heresy or false teaching who feel as strongly as Paul in vs. 8-9? Assuming there is a type or certain messenger who really sets you off, are there some who espouse false teaching, but of whom you are more tolerant?
